Aion Assassin Guide
65
The Assassin is usually viewed as the scoundrel of the race in
many MMORPGs. Assassin, also know as Sin, is closely related to the
archetypical thief class. Although the thief class in Aion doesn't
exist, the Assassin is still viewed as a dishonorable class because
of their ambush and poisoning skills.
As much as you are
despised for your sneakiness, and sly tactics you are still a very
important class in your Faction. Just think of yourself as James Bond
working for your Faction, doing all the dirty work of assassination.
So what does James Bond do, other than getting the beautiful ladies?
He acts in stealth, undercover, and uses any means necessary to
achieve his goal.
Assassins rely on their speed, the ability
hide, and their evasion skills. Assassin also has a special set of
skills, which include the ability to Engrave Patterns on their
enemies. Various patterns can be engraved on the enemies very
quickly, and can be removed just as easily afterwards with your
skills to cause severe damage and debuff status to your enemies.

Soloing as an Assassin
The two words you should always keep in mind as an Aion Assassin are "Damage Dealer", and that's what you should stick to whether you're in a group or going solo. Your objective while solo is to inflict as much damage as possible to your enemy while keeping them stunned. As an Assassin it is very important to know your skills and to be able to use them at the right time. The goal is to kill your enemy with one swift combo.
Assassin in a Group
In a group your role is... guess what?
Damage dealer! You will be doing what you normally do while going
solo, but in a group. The difference between solo and group play is
you don't have to watch your health points as much, and hopefully you
don't have to run away. In a group, skill combinations become less
important, but that doesn't mean you can use whatever skill you want.
So it is still good to know your skill so that you can increase your
groups efficiency.
Apart from being the damage dealer in your
group, there are also two other minor roles that you fit into
sometimes. These are the scout and the coward. The scout is straight
forward because the Assassin has the ability to go deep within the
enemies terror without being seen. So sometimes you would be asked by
your group to search out a path. As for the coward, you're probably
thinking well "I'm no coward" and you're right, but being a
coward as an Assassin sometimes is crucial.
